When a monster attacks, Dani discovers she has the powers of a pondskater—the funny long-legged insect that scoots across the water’s surface. Before she knows it, she’s running on water, fighting monsters, and protecting her lakeside town from danger.

The monsters—known as the rot—want to suck the life out of plants, animals, and people, too. As a bug girl, it’s Dani’s job to keep the rot in check.

However, Dani’s best friend isn’t so keen on Dani’s new bug powers, and a mysterious goth girl has her eye on her.
